Jakarta, 01/08/2024 Indonesia will hold the 2024 High-Level Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships Forum (HLF MSP) Forum from September 1-3, 2024, in Bali.

The forum, which will run under the theme "Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Towards a Transformative Change," is expected to involve up to 1,000 participants, including heads of state/government, heads of international organizations, ministerial-level government officials, multilateral development banks, the private sector, civil society organizations, philanthropic foundations, and academics. The opening ceremony of the forum will be held concurrently with the Indonesia-Africa Forum II, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas’ Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security Bogat Widyatmoko stated that Indonesia’s awareness of three major global issues: the global polycrisis, the weakening of multilateralism, and the impact of the global pandemic. “These issues have led to widening development gaps between the Global South and North, and have impeded progress towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. Therefore, after realizing the significance of tackling these issues, while also demonstrating its leadership in promoting international solidarity in line with the commitments of the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, Indonesia subsequently organized the HLF MSP,” explained Deputy Bogat.

Indonesia will focus on three global issues during the 2024 HLF MSP: 1) Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Strengthening South-South and Triangular Cooperation; 2) Improving Welfare and Sustainability through Sustainable Economy; and 3) Advancing Development through Innovative Financing. In each thematic discussion, the 2024 HLF MSP will highlight the necessity for transformative change, specifically innovative and unconventional adjustments to the current global governance system.

The 2024 HLF MSP is expected to serve as an accelerator for collaborative initiatives to address various global issues. “It is hoped that transformative change based on multii-stakeholder partnerships will accelerate global efforts to achieve the SDGs by 2030, and become a key modality for Indonesia in realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision,” concluded Deputy Bogat.
