Article of the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships

Badung, InfoPublik - The attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally, including in Indonesia and other developing countries, is facing significant challenges. In the endeavor to accelerate the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), multi-stakeholder partnerships have become increasingly crucial.

As it was stated by Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Vivi Yulaswati, on Monday (2/9/2024) during the 2024 High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder (HLF MSP) that scheduled on September 1-3, 22024 in Bali.

The SDGs provide a collaborative framework that fosters partnerships among sectors, sub-sectors, nations, and cities to promote inclusive and collaborative approaches. As we approach 2030 with only six years remaining, there is a pressing need for tangible examples and sustained synergy. This 2024 HLF MSP will serve as a platform to explore solutions and best practices from diverse nations that we can adopt and apply," stated Deputy Vivi.

According to the Sustainable Development Report 2023, Indonesia has significantly improved its global ranking, moving up from 102nd to 75th.

Deputy Vivi further elaborated that out of the 226 SDGs indicators with available data, approximately 77% have either achieved or shown progress. However, the remaining 23% of indicators require further attention. Therefore, collaboration and cooperation, including across countries, need to be enhanced.

The 2024 HLF MSP provides a crucial platform for Indonesia and other countries to share best practices and develop concrete solutions aimed at achieving the SDGs.

“The HLF provides an invaluable opportunity to share experiences. Indonesia, for instance, has a blue economy framework and a circular economy action plan that can serve as valuable lessons for collaboration. Development in the context of SDGs requires transformation, and Indonesia has already prepared for this in its National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045. All of these are worth discussing, including listening to the rapid progress in African countries,” concluded Deputy Vivi.
